A two part issue Roy but both are 'normal'. First the "global address list'
is dynamic and not really a list at all anymore. What Outlook uses is the
offline address list (when in cache mode). The offline address list is only
updated once (or twice?) a day by default, and Outlook only updates its copy
every so many hours.

You can force the rebuild of the offline address list by locating it in ESM
under recepients and right clicking, then choose 'rebuild'. Getting Outlook
to forcebaly update is a little trickier, and usually best done my chaning
the group policy to have it update itself more frequently. However this adds
'overhead' that you may not want running all the time.
