Re: problems with stations moved out of domain

I already asked in an XP forum and got no response, which isn't
surprising since they wouldn't know what issues there are around
domains, whereas people here would, so it seems like the place to ask.

But you aren't using a domain. You're using a workgroup and your question
has nothing to do with SBS. I'm sorry you didn't get a reply in the other
group, but that doesn't make this isn't the right one. Try rephrasing your
question & post again in the XP group as suggested.

Note also that these are not forums - they're usenet/internet newsgroups. I
suggest you try using a news client, such as Forte Agent, Thunderbird, or
even Outlook Express, rather than Google Groups or the MS Web interface,
neither of which is all that useful when you actually want to *use* the
groups (although Google Groups is handy for searching old posts). It's a lot
easier to do nearly everything with a newsreader. You can mark messages to
be watched, filter the views so you can see replies to your posts easily,
and search.

The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can
subscribe to as many groups as you like; no authentication is required.

Hi - I suggest you post in microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web as
you aren't using SBS or even a domain, so this isn't the right group.

NB: You need to keep the computers in a workgroup (the same one) and
you may need to do other tweaks to make the peer to peer
network/permissions work.
