The setup is:
Dell PowerEdge 1900, 2 x NIC:
WAN (IntelPro/1000 PT Server Adapter)->Router (SMC 7004VWBR) ->Cable modem
LAN (Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II GigE NDIS VBD Client)
Firewall: The SMC and Windows
Clients: 18 XP/SP2, 3 VISTA Business
Win2003 Std SBS R2 SP2, fully updated using WSUS3

The timeouts/logoffs happen on both XP and Vista clients.
