Is the 'Domain Admins' group part of the 'Groups' | 'Administrators' group?

the user is already an administrator. And the only user in the Local users and groups is the ComputerName\User account. There is no entry for the DomainName\User account. Does there need to be? I didn't think so.

Login with the local account, right click on 'computer | Manage' and select 'Local Users and Groups'. Add the user id tot he 'Remote Desktop Users' group. I assume the id you are using is not an Administrator account otherwise you wouldn't have to do that.
Hope that helps

It was because it was using the local user account instead of the domain user account. But when I try to use the domain user account via IP address, it fails also.
