Re: exchange server not resonding...

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Any help here?

The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service may stop responding when
you try to back up your Exchange 2003 database files by using a program that
uses the Volume Shadow Copy Service

the server is responding its functioning "normally" its on the users side
opening outlook it gives an error that it can not find the server or is
inaccessible, and shuts off. rebooting the pc does not help, but
rebooting
the server does.

...then there is the backups...and the failure of that.

So when you come in in the morning, is the server completely hung?
Meaning you can't move mouse, etc?

Or

Please be more specific about whats not responding

I changed the auto-updates already...its got 4gb RAM and the backups
are
running at night.
I usually VPN into the network, check mail, never having a problem
after
work or even the on the weekends whether it be early in the AM or not.
But
the employees who get here before myself report issues and the only fix
i've
found is a reboot. I'm not completly convinced that the issues are not
the
user???
Though the backups are failing quite a bit. Like I stated in the first
theard I was hired to Admin the network. I did not set any of this up
and i
cannot get ample support from the prior Admin. Running in the dark at
the
moment playing catchup.
