hi thanks for the reactions, and yes I was talkin about te computers
in the domain, I'm taking over the work of the curren system
administrator, and I see lots of computers registered in the domain.
When we replace a computer, it could happen that we forgot to remove
the old computer from the domain list.
and now I have a list of computers in the domain that are probably
not up to date.
and I want to clean up a bit :-)

Yep - this happens all the time.

I will check tat site tomorrow.
and by the way I found another trick to see the last login time of a
computer. I have I think it called wusus the windows update utility
on the server, it tracks the last updates with date and time.
so a computer that has not be logged on to a domain for a few weekst
will be noticed on wusus .

That's kind of a roundabout solution. Oldcmp will do this for you more
neatly.

thanks to the sugestion

with regards,

Hello Customer,

Thank you for posting here. Let's also thank Lanwench for the input.

According to your description, I understand that you want to monitor
the client computers logon domain event. If I have misunderstood the
problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if
we can resolve this issue:

You can try to enable the policy "Audit logon events" and then we
can audit the user logon/logoff events in the security log.

Hi, Terence - he appears to be writing about computer accounts, not
user accounts. If you check out the website I directed him to,
you'll see a lot of very useful utilities besides the one I
mentioned.
