Re: SBS 2003 2NIC's

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi Trevor,

+ Two Nics, a dynamic IP address, ISA and a router
(Diagram works for SBS with or without ISA)
http://www.smallbizserver.net/Articles/tabid/266/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/74/Two-Nics-a-dynamic-IP-address-ISA-and-a-router.aspx

If the BTBusinessHub IP address is 192.168.1.254, then your "external" NIC
should be given a static IP in that range (like 192.168.1.2). Then your
"internal" (SBS LAN) NIC would be 10.0.0.1, or at least a different subnet
from 192.168.1.x; 192.168.16.x is the SBS default).

+ Check the NIC Bindings:

Right click My Network Places...Properties. Highlight the Internal NIC. Then
select Advanced...Advanced Settings from the top menu for that window.

The Internal NIC should be displayed first followed by the External NIC. If
not, move the Internal NIC to the top of the list.
The Internal NIC should have File and Printer Sharing bound (check marked)
to the TCP/IP Protocol.
The Internal NIC should have Client for Microsoft Networks bound (check
marked) to the TCP/IP Protocol.
The External NIC should be bound to TCP/IP only (no other protocols or
services).

+ Re-run CEICW, enable the firewall, select the services you need, complete
the Web Server Certificate and finish CEICW. Make sure it completes without
any errors. Then reboot the workstations and check for successful web
access again.

+ Question: Are your workstations using a wireless connection?

Resetup the server today and enabled both of the NIC's. However,
neither the Server or Clinents can access the internet through
