I would back up a step and verify that RAID array further before installing.
A hardware array is invisible to the OS and shouldn't go down like that -
run some disk utilities on it (perhaps in the RAID menus there are tests).
Another thing to check for is bad SATA cables - I've seen a few bad ones
that aren't tight at their connectors and had to be replaced.

If the RAID BIOS uses F8 and you can't change it in there then you may just
have to wait a little longer before hitting F8 for DRM.

After restore which was successful, the raid failed again.

Can anyone advise how to get into active directory restore mode?
pressing F8 didn't work, that brought me into raid controller menu.
