Thanks for the link. We've already figured out how to create code-signing certs and to even propagate them to the Trusted folder of each users cert store via group policy. It's just that the functionality to create custom certificate templates has been disabled in SBS 2003 and I was hoping somebody had a work around.

Afraid I can't offer much here. Here's a thread that talks about it:.
How do I create a Digital Signature using MS Win 2003 SBS?
(On the second post from JW in this thread, expand the "quoted text" to see the procedure offered by Bob P)

"Edwin Smith" <smithgoldbug@xxxxxxx> wrote in message news:OkoEmEsOIHA.4440@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHello:
I have a client who is doing some VBA macro work in Office 2003 which requires a code signing certificate.
I have installed Certificate Services to set up a CA for the enterprise root. I am trying to create a duplicate of the Code Signing template in order to change the default parameters such as autoenrole, autorenew, and allow private key export.
I cannot use the duplicate certificate template to issue new certificates. According to the help file this should be possible but seems to be disable in Small Business server 2003.
Does anyone know why this is and is there a way to enable this functionality?
Thanks
Edwin
