that the group to which the GPO was linked could not log into Hotmail/Windows

This was not an intended result. I can't find any settings in the GPO that
would do this that I know about. Basically the user can reach thewww.hotmail.comlogin page, but when username/password is entered, the page
seems to try to load, but never finishes, and no error is displayed, nor is
anything logged in Event Viewer.

Could I get some help with troubleshooting this, please? I am at my wits
(none too plentiful) end!

Has your GPO locked down IE settings? Specifically cookies and their
ability to create/modify?
