Re: HijackThis Log Help

Hello,

I have removed Malware hundreds of times. If it is a payroll PC etc then
I normally do not take the risk that there is a Rootkit or something. I
do run rootkit revealer but the chances of finding something are slim.

I weigh the time of a reformat, reinstall, reinstall all drivers and
applications and put back any missing settings against Malware removal
time which at the most takes me about 1 hour actual hands on. Items like
trend Housecall etc can run longer than 1 hour so I do them overnight.

I have not yet charged any of my clients any more than about 1 hour.

This makes repair more economical and the downtime about the same
(reformat vs. repair).

Only issue with repair ... what have you missed and what might come
back.

Thanks

I would be interested in the time spent in removing this, start to finish,
not even counting the latency in send -> respond.

What do you think? Give us a summary of your experience vs a wipe and
reload?

BTW, this is probably as good a reason as any for images.

In the words of the old auto filter commercial... "pay now or pay (implied
more) later".
