RE: VPN Will not work Error 800

Hi,

Close port 47 on your router - PPTP uses port 1723 (leave that one alone)
and protocol (not port) 47 - your router may have a 'VPN pass through'
option. If so, enable this option.
Have you run the RRAS wizard from the 'To Do' list ? Have you then rerun the
CEICW ?
Why do you actually need the VPN ?

Hello,

I have the following problem with a SBS 2003 Premium server.

I cannot make a VPN connection. I always receive Error 800.

All the settings are correct as i think. I have already reconfigured the RAS
setting thru the Server control panel.

The router has port 1723 and 47 open to the server ip adres (192.168.1.100).
I dont think that the router is causing the problem because when i try from
a PC that is located in the internal network and set up a VPN connection to
the servers internal ip adress. I got the same error. Error 800 this error
comes up direct after clicking on the connect button so the system is not
trying for a while.

The Server has 2 Network cards but only 1 of the 2 cards is used, the other
not used one is set to Disabled.

The Server is connected to the internet thru a router with 1 network card.

The server has no problem going to the internet so the connection is ok.

Every PC can acces the server files and printers.

I tought it is maybe the firewall of the server , but when i wan to click on
the firewall it wont open.

When i do a portscan from the internet to the router --> the 1723 and 47 are
open to the servers Ip adress.

Can anyone give a few hints where i can go looking for the problem.

What is also strange , i have a 3th party software installed on the server
like RDP but Remote Administrator from Famatech. This is using port 4899. It
has always worked normal but after the reconfiguring of the Ras server thru
the Server control panel i cannot access the server anymore thru that program.

The RDP is also not working anymore. I worked before reconfiguring the RAS.

Thanx
