So you have some folks connecting to Exchange via POP3?
I would suggest that you change this and consider using Outlook over HTTP...should resolve the issue.

I have sort of a strange problem.
We recently installed a Barracuda SPAM firewall in our office. I have
configured the firewall to route all incoming SMTP traffic (port 25) to it,
which it then forwards to our SBS server. However we have a slight issue
that I need to resolve. Our external users that are not using an Outlook
client and send/receive email via POP/SMTP are now unable to authenticate to
the server, since the Barracuda is receiving all SMTP traffic.
So my question is; Is it possible to setup a second SMTP service on another
port that the external clients can authenticate to and send their outgoing
mail through. I tried creating another virtual SMTP server with another
port, but any mail sent via it is never received. I can only assume that the
SMTP server is trying to send the mail out via the modified SMTP port. (just
a guess) Obviously the mail server needs to send out via port 25, regardless
of the port the client authenticated to.
Any ideas how this can be done?
