The WAN NIC can either be connected to the ADSL direct or the same switch
that you ADSL modem is connected to (not the switch where the LAN NIC and
the computers are connected to).

Given that you are running SBS it is very unlikely that you need to
support
a network that needs over 1000 IP addresses. Change you subnet mask to
255.255.255.0 on both nics and you will be fine.
