Re: SBS 2003 and Vista firewall

The Vista firewall doesn't cause these issues. Especially if you have gone to Microsoft update and gotten the Vista/server patches.

Hey Guys,
I have SBS 2003 sp2 and am attempting to put a Vista machine in the
domain using the connect computer wizard. Wizard ran fine and joined
machine to domain, generated user account. Problem is upon reboot,
took a very long time for ctl-alt-dlt to come up, then took a very
long time to logon. It appears the Vista firewall is preventing
communication with the SBS box. I was able to turn off the firewall
once (possibly before the GPO kicked in) and it worked normally once.
Then ran gpupdate and it inherited the default firewall settings and
poof, can't contact the DC. Turned off the Vista GPO, but it can't
contact the DC to update the GPO. TRied to stop the Vista firewall
service, no joy. Help!
