Re: rww / local printing on remote pc

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Steve thanks for your reply , i was able to get support for issue from
epson & here was there fix below<

The environment that you are trying to use is not supported by Epson.
The problem that you are having is in relation to port mapping when the
Terminal Services Session is running.
For improved performance Epson Drivers do not use the Microsoft port drivers
they use there own and create their own ports.(ESDPRT00x)
You must run the exe to install the drivers you can not use the Add Printer
Wizard.
There may be a work around, which we have successfully used on Windows 2003
Server, but never tried on Small Business Server. Also it does not work with
USB printers.
If you can change the printer to Parallel then it is possible to get it to
work.
You need to install the drivers on the SBS2003 Server, in the ports tab
untick the box “Bidirectional Support” then use the standard Microsoft port
driver (ie LPT1).
By doing this Terminal Service is able to port map correctly and printing
will take place.
I have a machine here with Win 2003 Server with the driver installed, a
second machine with Win XP, Terminal Services and a parallel printer
connected.
When I use terminal services to connect to the Win 2003 PC the ports map and
I can print local using the driver on the server.
I also have customers using this method, as well as customers using Citrix
Server and printing via this method.

You should also make sure that you have the latest Terminal Services
Client (download from microsoft.com), as there have been significant
improvements in redirection support.
