Re: ActiveSync Web Admin Tool won't run

I am setting (or at least trying to) a mobile phone to connect to
exchange on an SBS2003 SP1 server. After installing Exchange 2003
SP2, I installed the ActiveSync Web Admin Tool. The install seemed to
go ok, it shows up in add/remove programs, but I cant get it to run.

I've tried http://localhost/mobileadmin as per directions in the
SBSMobile5.doc but I get the message.

The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name
changed, or is temporarily unavailable

I can run other programs using localhost/xxxx

You need to make a change to the way you install the mobile admin pack.
Here's the full installation procedure:

1. If you haven't done already, download the Mobile Admin pack here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e6851d23-d145-4
dbf-a2cc-e0b4c6301453&DisplayLang=en
2. Backup the metabase in IIS (right click the servername in IIS -> all
tasks -> backup/restore -> create backup)
3. TEMPORARILY set the default website to “all unassigned” (if it
is not already)
4. Run MobileAdmin.exe that you downloaded in step 1.
5. Reset IIS back to the way it was before step 3, if applicable
6. Open the properties for the ExAdmin virtual directory under the
default website -> directory security -> Edit for Secure Communications
and uncheck “Require SSL”
7. Restart the IIS Admin service
