That's correct. The only SP you need to install is the OS one. Everything
else will come back from the backup.
Next time you have to do this, you don't have to first put SP1 and then SP2
on. SP2 includes everything from SP1.

That's exactly what I did... Install W2k3 OS from CD1 and stop there.
Installed SP1 and then SP2 and then Restored from backup.
So, I don't need to install SBS SP1 now? Or any of the other SPs for
Exchange or ISA 2004? I'm just curious because ISA seemed like it was
running
SP2 so I re-installed ISA SP3... and I'm having other issues (Internet
very
slow) which I will post in a new question.
Anyway, just wanting to double check about those Service Packs.

I restored my SBS 2003 Premium Server a few weeks ago to identical
hardware
(controllers, hard drives, etc). I used the backup utility that comes
with

SBS to backup and restore the server.
Before I restored the server, I had applied Windows 2003 SP1 and the
SBS
SP1, Windows 2003 SP2, ISA 2004 SP 3, Exchange SP1 & 2....
So, what I did was install a fresh copy of SBS, installed Windows 2003
SP1
&
SP2 (SBS SP1 would not install) and performed the restored... I used
the
same
Admin password as before. The restore succeded and mostly everything
seems
to
be working ok but I'm not sure if I need to re-install some of the
service
packs. The reason I asked is because I ran the ISA Best Practices
Analyzer
and the report showed that I was running ISA 2004 SP 2 even though SP3
was
showing under Add/Remove Programs so I re-installed ISA 2004 SP 3 and
now
I
think it shows the correct version.. any way to verify this?
Also, I saw error 1005 from "dsrestor" and when I looked it up I found
KB
that made think that this has something to do with Windows Server 2003
SP1
and SBS SP1... so should I install SBS SP1?? It was installed before
the
disaster but like I said above, it wouldn't install when I was getting
ready
for the restore process and I haven't tried it since then. I'm not sure
if
I
need to reinstall SP1, then SBS SP1 and then SP2... any ideas?
I know this sounds like two different issues but my main question is if
I
have to re-apply any of the service packs (Exchange, ISA, SBS)...
