Re: Possible Virus or Spam?

Hi Richard:

Not exactly sure what you mean by "get rid of it".

AFAIK, you cannot "get rid of:" spam.

It is like dryer lint. It is, it exists, you have to live with it.

The best we can do is filter it out and flush it.

Thanks for the input. We are running 3.5 but that still doesn't mean it
got
stopped at the server depending on filters. The bigger issue is what is
it
what to do to get rid of it.

Hi Richard....

CSM 3.0 or ?

As I remember 3.0, and maybe even 3.6, but I don't think so, directs all
the
spam to the local computer. CSM 3.6 is a free upgrade and stores the
spam
on the server, where it is deleted per a schedule you control.

I have an SBS 2003 Prem environment running Trend Micro CSM on the
server
and
9 Win XP Pro clients. I have one client that is having a problem. All
of
the sudden the machine grinds to a halt and a massive amount (16,000+)
of
.tmp files are created in the user's Documents and Settings\Desktop
folder.
The file names are some type of hex sequencing (e.g. sav0AB.tmp) in
order
and
are 0k in size. I can delete the .tmp files and all works fine until
the
next day it happens all over again at a different time during the day.

Anyone seen this before and suggest how to fix?

Thanks!
