If you've already put on WSUS 3 then I wouldn't bother with R2. In fact, I
think you need to downgrade to WSUS2 for the R2 upgrade and then go back to
WSUS3 (there's are SBS whitepaper on this). Another complication that
really makes it not worth it...

I am used to using WSUS 3.0. That much we've upgraded and it only drives me

P.S. Yes, we are novices. Our one slightly-less-than-novice works for
Microsoft and can arrange meetings with the SBS program manager, which he
did when we upgraded the hardware and we couldn't get the swing method to
work. He made many pointed comments to the PM that upgrading hardware
should be easier for SBS

Remember everyone, these are novices ( no pun intended brian...lol)...

Personally WSUS is more trouble than its worth. I know alot will disagree
but when you have update procedures in place it is not necc. I like users
to be responsible for their own pcs ( to a degree) which in turn educates
users to implement on their own home pcs. Admin work increases and first
install, if its your only site causes many headches which you learn for
the next one.

We're running Win 2003 SBS SP2. We have the disk to upgrade to SBS R2.
Considering that we're an all volunteer church that barely knows enough
about SBS to keep it running, are there compelling reasons to go to R2?
And how hard is it to do so?
