Hello,
I have a couple of issues with my 2003 SBS. I have a network
consisting of three sites. First one is the HQ, there is 2003 SBS as
a DC, and two 2000 standard servers as a member servers, one of them
is a Terminal Server. The subnet is 192.168.16.x
On the second site there is a 2000 standard server configured as a DC,
subnet 192.168.20.x. The third site is identical, with subnet
192.168.50.x. The network is provider-managed VPN on Cisco routers.
Now the problems:
I have Directory Service log full of KCC errors. After some days
spent with troubleshooting I now can get an error 1722 RPC Server
unavailable. When I use the portqry tool, everything seems to be all
right. The AD and DNS replication is now working, most of the time,
Most of the time? Should be "almost always" or better. Why / when / how is
is not "working"? Have you defined your remote offices as AD sites, assigned
the subnets to them and the DC to these sites also? - This is very
important. Use DCDIAG and Netdiag for assistance and suplements to event log
entries.
but it is not reliable. I need to finish the configuration of the
Terminal Server, but I don't want to move on before everything else
runs smoothly.
I was suspecting the ISA server, but all other RPC applications are
running well, so I guess that it's not the problem. I have spent two
weeks searching online and tried many things, but with no result. I
still have the feeling I miss something obvious.
Can you please help me?
Thank you
