I did stop the service for computer browser on the client I showed. It
didn't solve the problem. But, is it a good idea anyway?

I can do group policy,
but I am not sure exactly how to do that for a specific service.

Create a new group policy object. Link it at MyBusiness\SBSComputers. Call
it something logical. Edit it -

Computer config\windows settings\security settings\system services

Change Computer Browser to Defined - and pick Disabled.

Reboot all the computers...then try browmon to make sure the SBS box is the
browse master. Then try browsing!








The only thing I can possibly think of that happened close to the
event is the power went out, and most of the PCs (but not this one I
am on) shut off. (I have since purchased rather expensvie UPS/AVRs --
I just am on a tight budget). But, I don't know if that would cause a
quick election. This election stuff is rather new to me. Thanks.

folders on the server. So, here I can't even get to this point, but
I have a shortcut to the server icon and it works fine.

This occurs from all of the clients. An ipconfig /all shows that
each computer seems to have all of the correct settings and are
connected to the domain and not the workgroup.

I have researched this a bit, and I keep finding suggestions about a
master browser. I did restart all of the PCs, but my guess is the
server is the master browser.

Got WINS? Everyone registered in WINS, including the server?

Stop and disable the computer browser on all workstations - they
don't need it running and it will cause regular master browser
elections on its own. Simplest way to stop that is by disabling the
service - use group policy.

As the other reply suggested, an unedited ipconfig /all from the
server & a problem client might also be of some use.
