In article <1195019093.270984.293480@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>,
aprilfool2005@xxxxxxxxx says...
I've been able to block youtube, mysapce (unless the user knows about
proxies) but for facebook i can't figure that one out.
Any ideas on how to accomplish this task..
Any good firewall will have a "web blocker" service that allows you to
select "Categories" of things to block, even proxies, and it makes
things simple to allow/disallow.
With a proper firewall you can allow one group of computers to have XYZ
level of access while allowing abc level of access for the others - so
you would set the managers computers in one IP range (using DHCP Scope
Reservations) and apply rule xyz to them, then all others would get abc
- you can also create a different rule for the server(s) so that they
can download exe and such without having to allow users that level of
access.
