Please help me choose a new server.

Hello,

We currently have a Dell server
Processor Pentium 4
Speed 3.40 GHz
Model # PowerVault 745N
RAM 2 GB
Disk Space about 688 GB
OS Server 2003 Standard Edition SP1

we use this for to Shared Files. I insallted DLO (laptop backups) and
one web app. I guess this was an overkill as when the DLO runs people
the whole thing goes slow as hell.

I guess this server is most for sharing files and does not have enough
process power.

Now I have a budget to get new server, this new server will be used to
back up laptops and some desktops and also run the web app, which is
getting bigger, and will need more power.

Do you guys have any advice of what should I be getting hardware wise?
SATA or SCSI Drives...
Processing Server as opposed just a file server.
