WSUS 3 upgrade

Running SBS2003 R1 Premium with Windows SP2, WSUS 2.0 using a SQL2000
database (not MSDE).
I'm thinking I'm going to make the jump to WSUS 3.0 from 2.0 (I know, it's
been a while but I hate making upgrades to things that are working well...).
1) Any issues with doing the upgrade per the new MS docs SBSWSUSv3.doc and
WSUS30DeploymentGuide.doc? We've use a SQL2000 DB and have gone to Windows
SP2 which are the only things I see that are "different" than the
procedures.
2) Will WSUS 3.0 continue to use the SQL2000 database or will it install
it's own? (looks like the latter, will the db that WSUS3 install break
anything?)
3) I gather all the group policy and "server-side targeting" changes (as per
the older MS WSUS on SBS2003 doc) to make the clients use WSUS automatically
will still work after the upgrade?
4) Should I just let WSUS 2.0 self-upgrade to 3.0 or is that a bad idea?
(the MS doc doesn't show doing that)
Thx
