Re: SBS 2003 POP3 15 Min Limitation

POP Beamer is often recommended. As Cris says it really is best to use
incoming SMTP so hopefully you can figure out all your problems with the
PDAs and Blackberries. Since SBS 2003 is already capable of pushing mail
etc. to Windows mobile devices at no extra cost I haven't had any clients
want to use anything else.

The issue is that someone else built the server and I have been trying to
patch/fix it to get exchange to work properly. I have gotten them to get a
new more robust server and I am doing a clean install. they want to connect
palm and blackberry devices to the server.

With the current server there have been nothing but issues.
I setup the server to act as a pop3 and SMTP server for the palm and
blackberry devices to connect. The palm devices worked but the blackberry
devices did not. I had to configure the BB devices to use outlook web access
via the mobile carrier/Blackberry site, and that has been having issues.

let me also say that this is the first time I have had to configure a SBS
server to send and receive emails on pda's other than windows mobile
devices. My customers usually get BB servers or use windows mobile devices
and call it a day. So I may have configured something wrong or missed
configuring something

I believe that with the new server and proper installation that all of the
issues will cease but I want to have a backup plan just incase.

What other pop3 service would you recommend? I will only use these if all
else fails.

Only by switching(paying) to a 3rd party pop connector
You need to find out what the objection is to having mail come straight to
the SBS server

Hello all,

Is there any way around the SBS pop3 15 min limitation to check for emails
other than having the email come directly to the server. The customer wants
to keep the existing hosting service active and recieve email oon the
exchange server.
