Hello Stephan,
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that the ADM templates on your
SBS is corrupted and you unable to find Computer
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network branch at Group Policy
Editor. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let
me know.
Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:
1. Reset the system ADM:
a. Please open Group Policy Editor on SBS
b. Extend to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates
c. Right click Administrative Templates, select Add/Remove Templates
d. If system in the list, please remove it. Close
e. Right click Administrative Templates again, select Add/Remove Templates
f. Click Add button, select C:\WINDOES\inf\system.adm. Close
Does the Network branch appear?
2. If the issue persists, please copy the C:\WINDOES\inf\system.adm from a
good SBS system, and overwrite on your SBS. Then, perform whole step 1#.
Does it help?
3. Rest system adm under sysvol:
a. Copy the \\sysvol\<DOMIAN>\policy\<GUID>\ADM\SYSTEM.ADM to a different
location for backup.
b. Copy the system.adm file from C:\WINDOWS\inf to the above folder.
Then, test this issue.
I hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| Dear Technet Discussions,
|
| It seems that there is something wrong with my ADM templates on my
SBS2003
| SP1 Server from this morning.
|
| From the server if I decide to edit the Selected Policy. I for instance
can
| not find the
| Computer Configuration\Admin Templates\Network branch.
|
| I decided to have a look at a few settings:
| Yes, the current GPO Settings is enabled to allow for automatic ADM
updates.
| No, there does not seem to be any recent modifications made to the ADM
| templates for the specified policy.
|
| To get the basic SP2 templates applied again:
| I logged in as the Domain Admin onto a SP2 Workstation, Opened the Group
| Policy Editor and selected the policy I wanted to update from the Domain.
|
| Yes, here I now have all the options available to me (and now the ADM's
| should update to the SYSVOL\[Domain]\Policies\GUID\ADM folder)
|
| But it does not.
|
| After closing the Group Policy Editor from the Workstation, those options
| are not available when opening the same policy from the server.
|
| Ok, time for a manual update.
|
| On the Server, I opened the specified policy.
| Computer Configuration > Admin Templates.
| Right-Click -> Add/Remove Templates.
|
| Here I took the AMDs from the workstation and [after making a bakup of
the
| current ADM's] Added / Replaced the ADMs on the server.
|
| Close the Group Policy Editor, open the Group Policy Editor.
|
| Still no change.
|
| Any help would be appreciated.
| Many thanks.
|
| Stephan
