Hello Chris,
Thank you for your update.
I'm glad I got the point.
Now, I know you set the logoff/shutdown script thru the local group policy,
but the script does not execute. So, this is a local group policy apply
issue. Please gather the information I request in my previous reply to help
for further investigation.
Additional, we can try to set domain group policy to apply this script. The
domain group policy can be set to apply on one client computer.
We need to create a new OU under the ADUC, move this computer accounts to
this OU. Then create a new GPO to apply the script and apply on this OU.
Then, the GPO will be only apply to this one computer. Detail steps:
1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) on SBS
2. Extend to MyBusiness -> Computers, create a new OU here
3. Move the client computer account from SBSComputers OU to the new OU
4. Open the new OU properties, Group Policy tab, Open button
5.Right click the new OU under Group Policy Management console (GPMC),
select Create and Link a GPO Here
6. Right click the new GPO, select Edit, set Shutdown script here like in
the local group policy
7. Place the script in a shared folder, and ensure the user logon this
client computer has permission to access the script.
I hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| Hi Terence,
|
| That's it, you have it now. In the first instance I wanted to know if
there
| was anything wrong with the idea of setting a logoff/shutdown script to
fire
| via the local computer policy when the machine was part of a domain. You
have
| said their should not be.
|
| I now need to figure out what is happening so when I can get to this
machine
| (a remote PC) I will get the log suggested.
|
| I should have been clearer with the term "I DO NOT WANT TO SET THEM VIA A
| GPO". I meant that I do not want to set a DOMAIN GPO. This is an instance
| where only one machine needs to fire the script, so it would be easier to
| apply the policy object locally rather than assign is globally.
