Hi Terence and Waggers,
I have the same issue and wondered if you have successfully resolved by
uninstalling/reinstalling WSUS3.
If WSUS 3 has been installed why is it necessary to unisntall wsus2 and then
uninstall wsus3.
I am concidering performing the procedure documented in this thread. Can
anyone confirm that it has resolved the application error problem after
following these actions.
Regards
Trevor

Hello Waggers,.
Thank you for your reply.
I do not suggest you to re-install the whole R2. At beginning, I suppose
your WSUS is 2.0, so I suggest you to uninstall the WSUS 2.0 and reinstall
it from R2 CD. In fact, your WSUS is 3.0, I suggest you to uninstall WSUS
3.0 and reinstall 3.0 thru the recommend document.
I think the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
caused by the incorrect WSUS installation on SBS. Therefore, I suggest you
to try to reinstall the WSUS to see if we can resolve this issue.
Since you have WSUS 3.0, we do not need to install the WSUS 2.0 again. For
the computers group in WSUS, we need to reassign.
Do you still get this error after you success install the WSUS 3.0?
If there's anything else I can do for you, please do not hesitate to let me
know.
Thank you and have a nice day,
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)
