RE: Exchange Server

Hi Shailendra,

Thanks for your reply.

I researched your logs and found the MSExchangeTransport events 4006, 969,
4005, 984. Based on my research, please take the following steps:

Step 1: Please check the SMTP Server Configuration.

1. Start the Exchange System Manager.
2. Expand Servers, expand <Servername>, expand Protocols, and then expand
SMTP.
3. Right click Default SMTP Virtual Server and select Properties.
4. On the General tab, ensure IP address shows "All Unassigned".
5. On the Access tab, ensure Anonymous Access, Basic authentication and
Integrated Windows authentication are selected.
6. click OK.
7. Chick again.

Step 2:If step one doesn't work, please take the following steps to create
a new SMTP server.

1. Right click Default SMTP Virtual server and select Stop.

2. Create new SMTP virtual server.

1) Right click SMTP and select New\SMTP Virtual Server.
2) Input the Name: New SMTP.
3) Select the IP address: All Unassigned.
4) Click Finish.

3. Rename the c:\program files\exchsrvr\mailroot folder to oldermailroot.
4. Created a new c:\program files\exchsrvr\mailroot folder.

5. Start the new SMTP virtual server and try again.

Hope this helps.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)

<Hi Shailendra,
<
<Thanks for your reply.
<
<I researched your logs but didn't find any Exchange related error or
<warning. All POP3 e-mails are successfully downloaded and delivered to
<user's mailbox.
<
<At this point, the problem may be more complex and time consuming, thanks
<for your understanding and patience.
<
<Since generally when a NDR is created, the system will not record the
event
<in the application log. Please enable Message Tracking and Diagnostics
<Logging on the Exchange Server and collect the application logs:
<
<1. Start Exchange System Manager.
<2. Expand the "Servers" container and then "<ServerName>".
<3. Right-click the server, and then click Properties.
<4. On the General tab, click to select the "Enable subject logging and
<display" and "Enable Message Tracking" check boxes.
<5. On the Diagnostics Logging tab, choose MSExchangeTransport service and
<set the logging level to Maximum for all child Categories in the right
<pane.
<6. Click OK.
<7. Click Start-> Run, type "eventvwr.msc" (without quotation marks) in
the
<Open box and press Enter.
<8. In Event Viewer, Right-click Application and choose Properties. Change
<the maximum log size to 64000 KB and click OK.
<
<After the problem is reproduced, please collect the application log:
<
<1) Click Start -> Run, type EVENTVWR.MSC and click OK.
<2) Right click the Application Event, select Save Log File as, save it to

<3) Email me the file
