Error while installing SQL Server 2005

I'm facing a problem while installing SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition on my
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium R2 PC. When I select to install
Reporting Services, that part of the installation always fails with an error
that says "Setup couldn't create a SharePoint exclusion path". I checked the
setup log file, and there are entries indicating that setup couldn't create
an application pool (in IIS).

I've tried to install Reporting Services separately from the main
installation. But then, I always get errors in my SBS Monitoring reports that
say, "Reporting Services couldn't connect to it's database".

I haven't started using Reporting Services yet, but I will have to soon.

How can I get around this?
