Hello Manfred
Thanks for your post. I have reapplied the SP2 and carried all the steps as
shown below, re run CEICW and run all the tests according to the post but
problem still persists
When I run telnet localhost 25 -à this is ok, but not from LAN or internet
even without antivirus and running the MSCONFIG utility.
Other ports such as 21,80 and 3389 are OK
Router is OK not blocking
I have No ISA installed and firewall on server is disabled
I have send files as requested by email
Thanks for your help

Hello Charles,.
Thank you for posting here.
From your post, I understand that after installing SP2 on SBS server, port
25 seems to be blocked on the server.
Firstly I would like to confirm how did you install SP2? Did you refer to
following article to install it?
Best practices and known issues when you install Windows Server 2003
Service Pack 2 on a Windows Small Business Server 2003-based computer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939421
If not, I suggest you refer to this article to install SP2 again and
install all the hotfixes.
After that, please re-run CEICW and check if the issue persists:
Re-running CEICW on SBS server:

How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server 2003

If it does not work, please try to temporarily disable all antivirus and
firewall, then check the issue again. Please also check the situation in a
clean boot environment:
Prepare a Clean Boot environment.
=================
1. Click Start and Click Run, and in the "Open" line, type in "MSCONFIG"
(without the quotation marks) and click OK.
2. Under the Service tab, check "Hide All Microsoft Services", and then
click "Disable All" button. In this way, we can disable all the services
which belong to third-party programs.
3. Under the Startup tab, click "Disable All" button.
4. Click OK.
5. Choose Yes to restart the computer.
6. Check "Don't show this message or launch the system configuration
utility when Windows starts".
7. Please check if the issue persists in the clean boot environment.
NOTE: We can check on Normal Startup in the General tab to roll back to
Normal Mode after we get this issue resolved.
I hope the above information is helpful to you. If the problem still
occurs, please help me gather following information:
1. Please check the router settings to ensure that port 25 is not blocked.
2. Please try running "telnet localhost 25" on the server, what is the
result?
3. Please try to telnet the server at other ports such as 3389 and 80. What
are the results? (Please try both computer name and IP address)
4. Is ISA server installed on the server?
5. Send me the port information:
A: Download Portqry command line tool from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=89811747-c74b-4638-
a2d5-ac828bdc6983&DisplayLang=en
B: Install it on the SBS server box.
C: Start-->Run-->cmd, in the command prompt, input the following commands:
cd \portqryv2 (This is the default install path)
portqry -local > c:\port1.txt
D: Send the txt file to my mailbox v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
6. Please download the MPS Report tool from the following link and run it
on the SBS server, then send the generated CAB file to my mailbox
v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx for further investigation so that we can find what
the root cause is:

concern, please feel free to let me know.
