my reply to the lat response:
My first response to you said "Thank you for your response. Unfortunately
refreshing the browser several times did not work, tried the work around got
the following message: …… "
The four client machines will display www.google.co.uk site all other site
request will not. The page did not and still does not refresh on any of the
four client machines only the server will display the web page requested. I
hope I am not wasting your time only this is causing major problems to us as
80% of our business is done over the internet, so your help is most welcome
and needed.

OK, from what I originally posted..

try refreshing the browser window a few times. If it eventually gives you
the page it's likely our friend EDNS.
------endquote-----
In other words: If refreshing the browser w fesw time doesn't bring up the
page this is not likely the case.
Before the change, did refreshing the browser a few times result in the page
displaying or are you wasting our time?

Thank you yet again for your help.
the instruction was taken this time: C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator.AFMSERVER>dnscmd afmserver /config /enab
leednsprobes 0
Registry property enableednsprobes successfully reset.
Command completed successfully.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.AFMSERVER>
After a restart of the server my client machines are still unable to get
the
website to appear in the browser but it can be seen with the command
tracert
Any other suggestions?

OK, slight space problem in mine also
dnscmd afmserver /config /enableednsprobes 0
Seems neither of us can read a KB :-)
However, I aways use the second form of the command
dnscmd /config /enableednsprobes 0

Thank you for trying to help me with this one.
I cut a pasted the command but still came back with the following
following
remark "Unknown Command "/enableednsprobes" Specified -- type
DnsCmd -?."
Do you have any other suggestion to what this might be?
Regards
Jeff

This is puzzling me, I am not the worlds best network wiz kid so
please
be kind.
Here is my problem, the server can go to any site and it will
appear
in
the browser, if I go to a client machine and type
www.google.co.uk
it
works fine, however if I type www.virginmedia.com or
www.microsoft.com
and most other site names it will not appear in the browser, but
when I
open the command prompt and type tracert www.virginmedia.com
after
10
stages the trace is complete!! Any ideas what is happening?
