Re: POP users unable to send to distribution lists

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Your questions are no problem at all. And in answer to your question, yes all
the users have the same domain extensions.

Now for the pop3 users, does their email address have the same domain
extension as the Exchange Users so for example do both sets of users
have email addresses of company.com???

For POP users I only have and see POP3

Ok, so if you look in Outlook and look at the accounts,
Do you see Exchange, FAX and the POP3 account?

What are they using as the email client?

I don't understand your question. Only users who are set up as POP
accounts
are experiencing this issue. Anytime they send an email to a
distribution
group it bounces back that they don't have permissions to send. If
they
send
to regular users they don't have a problem.

And you have verified in Outlook that the only account is the POP3
account?

No ISA is not running. The people are in the building and they are
part
of
our domain. The set up is POP users use a third party to send mail.
When
configuring their outlook client as POP the outgoing SMTP is an
address
of
our ISP with a user and password. It was always set up this way. And
I'm
not
using the Premium edition yet.

Is this SBS 2003 Premium Edition?
Do you have ISA running?

So these are people who are physically in your building but not in
your
domain?

I recently upgraded my SBS 2000 to SBS 2003. Everything went
through
okay
except that POP users in my company can not send to distribution
groups
that
people configured as exchange users can. Is there something I'm
missing.
Thanks in advance
