Re: IP Settings

Sorry about the same IP statement... I misread the config for the internal
NIC.

So here is what I would do (assuming your backbone is a switch and not a
hub):

1. Disable your "external NIC" - don't need it.
2. Change the LAN side of your router/firewall to 192.168.16.1
3. Connect the LAN side of your router/firewall directly to your backbone
and not the server
4. Change the default gateway on your "internal" NIC to 192.168.16.1

I don't have the same IP's on the two NIC's.

The router is a Firewall Device with a WAN Interface and a LAN Interface
(192.168.1.1) plugged into my SBS External NIC (192.168.1.2)
DHCP is Disabled on the Router. SBS gives out IP's
Port Forwarding for VPN/HTTPS/GRE/RWW/SMTP to SBS External NIC 192.168.1.2
UPNP is enabled too (Could this be the problem???)

Thanks

Well... you definitely can't have the same IP assigned to both NICs...
that just doesn't make sense.

More info about your router configuration is required. For example, is
it set to bridged mode and passing the public IP addresses through to the
device attached to it? Or is it a firewall with a WAN interface and a
LAN interface? If it is acting as a firewall, is DHCP handing out IP's
to the LAN side?

Just got a static IP and put the IP address in the router. Now SBS
keeps getting Event ID 7062 errors.
Is the Router's LAN IP supposed to be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.16.1?
The SBS External NIC plugs into the router.
