Additional Domain Controller
Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry
Hi All,
I am trying to add an additional 2003 R2 Domain Controller to our SBS
network. With the intention of moving this 2nd DC to another site, and
joining the sites via VPN. The new server is currently at the same site
as the SBS box.
I have run the "add server" wizard on the SBS box, and added the new
server to our domain as a member server.
I have tried to add a new role as "Domain Controller (Active Directory)"
and selected "Additional DC to existing domain". The wizard runs through
but fails, saying "The Version of the Active Directory schema of the
forest is not compatible with the version of Active Directory on this
computer"
I have then tried running "adprep /forestprep" on the SBS box, which
runs successfully saying "Forest-wide information has already been updated"
What am i doing wrong?
Cheers,
Brad
