Hey Joe...thanks for the reply. :)
I realize the ports coming in aren't the problem - I just
wanted to lay out some of the information I've discovered so that it
might be of assistance.
I re-ran the RRA wizard and then the Connect to Internet
wizard again. I don't have an internet name for the default website
yet, have to get in touch with the company tha does their hosting to
get that set up, but I used the IP address for the name and the
certificate both.
I'm not getting the RWW web page from either internal or
external. I AM getting the invalid certificate error, which is
nothing new to me. I click to go to the website anyway, and then get
a page cannot be displayed error. Yes I can connect from a LAN
machine to another LAN machine. User permissions on the Default
website are Read & Execute, Read, and List Folder Contents which
should be sufficient to give a normal user access.
I do believe I've found the culprit in the time since I wrote
this message. Every time I try to access RWW I get an error in the
Application Event Viewer. It's error 2268, source W3SVC-WP. Says it
can't load all the ISAPI filters for the site/service. When I right
click on the default website and go to the ISAPI filters tab one of
the Exchange .dlls isn't loading.
UPDATE -
In the process of typing this, I deleted the filter that
wasn't loading (in the list of filters to load, not on the hard drive)
and it is NOW working! (I stopped and started the website after I
deleted it from the list.)
Exchange isn't being used on this network, so the OWALOGON
filter isn't crucial.
So, now I need to figure out if there's anything else broke.
I really appreciate your help...it led me to the solution.
You're welcome. I have a feeling that a fair amount of RWW trouble is due to the web server being tweaked by people who know WS2003 and IIS, but are not aware of the exact configurations that the SBS scripts and wizards make to get RWW and other services running. I'm not sure there is a clean way to rip out a dubious IIS installation and reinstall it, getting back to the default configuration.
