Re: Mainpine IQ Express: PCI-Express multi-port fax board for the free Microsoft Fax Server included in SBS

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Les,

Check Cantata's web site. They have a fix for the hanging fax service. Two
files needed for older boards, one for the newer boards.

I look forward to trying a Mainpine board next.

Hi David,

I've been using the Brooktrout Trufax cards with pretty good success on
SBS. In general, the "intelligent" fax boards do offer a number of
reliability and performance enhancements over "faxmodems", and any of my
clients who are fax dependent realize the benefits, and see value in the
more robust fax boards.

That said, I know a number of posters here have some unresolved hanging
issues with the Trufax boards - and I have one site that does have this
issue.

I've just this week replaced the Trufax with a Mainpine IQ Express single
port card - it's working just fine thus far. In a week or so, I'll post
back with some updated information.

Do you do an SBS version?
The only product I could see was $599 for a two-port card..
Sort of over-priced, seeing as I can use HQL certified USR external modem
for $50

SBS owners live in the REAL world where you have to demonstrate realistic
ROI.
