[RESPONSE] So let me get this straight...I go into "Routing and Remote Access" go to "NAT/Basic Firewall", right click on the NIC involved with PPTP, click on "Services and Ports." Right now I do not see GRE, therefore I have added GRE with a protocol of 47. Now that I have done that, pptpsrv does not work. Can you be a little more clearer.[END RESPONSE]

You don't *ever* need to mess about with protocols to get PPTP working on SBS.

Is your remote client using a network address different from that of the SBS LAN? At the moment, that looks a good thing to check. If they are not different, then the web-based features of SBS will work but not anything involving routing, such as VPN, which sounds very much like what is happening.

To create a VPN link, TCP/IP routing for port 1723 must be working properly. If it isn't, it can't set up the GRE tunnel.
