Opening the AD mmc I see the
same domain on both servers. Whenever . The funny thing they are on
seperate subnets however, there is a VPN between the two because they
do DFS. If I right click on the Ad Domain and select operations
master in the
MMC it lists the SBS as the primary and gives me the option to
transfer ops master to the other w2k3 server. Huh? I am so
confused.
This doesn't sound that odd to me. You can have two DCs in SBS, and they can
be in
separate locations (although I do suggest you ensure the other DC is in its
own clearly labeled AD site & subnet, if you open "AD Sites & Services").
Just don't go transferring FSMO roles. Your other DC should be a global
catalog server, but don't remove any role from SBS or it will become sad.
