hello everybody,

i guess it's a classicla question, but i wasn't able to find any
answers up to now.

case 1
I have an exchange (SBS) running.
I'm using domain name "primarydomain".
my exchange server receives SMTP directly.

how can i send messages with another email address than my default
primary adress?
let's say i'm user 1, i have 1 email adress and many aliases (like
contact).
how can i send emails using my "contact" name istead of my real name,
which i use most of the time?

You can't do that with Exchange. In Exchange you have one default email
address. You would need a 3rd party software for it.

any recommendation for that?
Or maybe it is possible to find a 3rd party software working with
exchange, like a plug-in?

Case 2 - same config
one of my users want to "integrate" an external POP account, from
"secondarydomain", which is not at all related to my company and
primarydomain.
i can configure the POP conector without problem,
but how can he reply to the mail sent to this external adress with his
external identity?
and how can i use a different SMTP just for this address?

If you would configure the POP3 connection from his Outlook it would happen
automatically on replies. Outlook would select the account that the mail was
received on. For new mail you would have to select from the dropdown which
account to use.

but then there is no way i can use my Exchange antivirus/antispam,
right?

Case 3 - all emails sent to primarydomain AND secondarydomain hit my
exchange server through POP connector.
Would the configuration be different from case 1 or 2?

Stay away from the POP3 connector. It wouldn't give you anything but grieve.
it already does ;)
do you know any FREE 3rd party POP connector?
I know 1 (POPMail), but he is often stuck when retreiveing badly
formulated sender addresses.

Again, thanks for your answers.
