Re: Port 4125 blocked by SBS firewall

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks for your help, but I've actually had to stop for today (It's 6:30 pm
in the UK).
If you can post any more suggestions, I will try them out as soon as I can,
but probably not before Monday, unfortunately.

Bill

Bill,

Just type http://<yourservername>/remote That's the NETBIOS name of your
server

I typed: https://subdomain.domain.com/remote from a workstation. It gave
me
'Cannot find server'.
Do you mean I should type: https://domain.local/remote ?
Or should it be https://(windows name)/remote ?

First see if RWW works from the inside. On the server or from a domain
workstation type https://servername/remote

Do you get to RWW?

I created an A record for the subdomain, pointing to the public IP
Address
of
the router. I'm not sure how to check that it's working OK, but that
doesn't
seem to be the problem, because I get the same result if I enter the IP
Address itself.

Did you create an A record at the ISP that points to your server (e.g.
server.domain.com)

We set up RWW by running Connect to Internet task from ToDo List,
allowing
Outlook Web Access and Remote Web Workplace.
Chose to enable firewall, but not adding any other ports except
default
25
(email).
Created a new Web server certificate – I entered:
subdomain.domain.com
Server sent an email with link to click for RWW - it doesn't work,
gives
'Cannot find server'.
Port 4125 has been enabled on router, its firewall log shows that
packets
are being allowed through, so it must be the SBS Firewall (basic
edition)
which is doing the blocking.

Any suggestions?

Bill
