I certainly respect your answers and input to this group, but having done this now for 10 years on a Microsoft owned Newsserver, I have always used OE. And on my vista machine I use Windows Mail (which is OE, renamed, with a couple of new features.
I've tried other News Reader clients and didn't find them easy to use in terms of keeping track of the posts I'm contributing to.
If you have another news reader which you think is worth reconsidering...I'm willing to give it a shot

This is Usenet, and OE is not a proper Usenet client. While we can go
round and round about this, fact is that this is Usenet and email
clients are notorious for breaking Usenet standards.
Usenet is text based, should break lines at about 73 characters,
properly indent replies, etc... All Usenet client apps do this properly
and it's been a standard for 20+ years, one that MS breaks.
