Does calling the sever by name work? (http://servername)
There are a couple of areas you can look at. First start by looking to see if ASP.NET version 1.1 is used. On both the 'Default Web Site'/'Remote' virtual directory and 'companyweb' go to 'Properties' and then 'ASP.NET' tab. Then check to see if the c:\inetpub\companyweb directory exist and whether it's empty or not. Check if the 'DefaulAppPool' is used on both of the above sites.

Can you post if there are any HTTP error numbers on the page when you try to
access companyweb and the remote?
