Hi, I assume the original alias has been deleted... why not add it back in
as an additional smtp address ?
May I ask if you are aware of RPC over HTTP ? Of course this will only work
with XP and above ( not mentioning that other WS name... ;-) ) and Outlook
2003.
If you login to server via RWW then there is a link for Outlook over the
internet, step by step to configure it. Only found two issues that users
fall upon when configuring:-
1. Adding the certificate into Trusted... must chose the manual / second
radio button and add it into the first folder.
2. Users forget to add the domain name as user name i.e domain\username
Works very good.

Hi,
I am running sbs2003 standard. That is my exchange mail server with pop3
enabled.
When I try to configure an pop 3 client to retrieve the mail over the
internet from that server, I can do so only for the users whose username
matches their email alias. For some users Ive changed primary smtp email
to
firstname.secondname@xxxxxxxxxx while their username remained first
intitial
lastname. I connected to my server via telnet and when I try to log those
users on, I get an "unknown user" error. If I try another account with
identical email and username (first initial lastname) it is successful.
Other
than that email works fine (exchange and owa) .
Please help
Alex
