Hello Customer,
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that you want to force logoff
remote user before run backup. If I have misunderstood the problem, please
don't hesitate to let me know.
Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:
We can try to run a scheduled task to log off the client on a specific time
or remote logoff the computer from the administrator's computer with remote
shutdown /l commands.
In Windows XP or Windows 2003, there is tool: logoff.exe which can help us
to logoff users. The following steps can be used to deploy this solution:
1. Create a scheduled job which to run this tool.
A) Permissions can be set which disallow users from changing or deleting
the job
B) A local user account needs to be specified
2. Copy this scheduled job from the %systemroot%\tasks folder of one
computer to the %systemroot%\tasks folder of all clients.
Now regardless of who is logged on, or if a user has locked his
workstation, the scheduled job will log the user off.
Note: the command "shutdown /l" is equal to logoff tool.
An alternate deployment would be to use the AT command to reference the
local System account. For more information about AT command, type AT /? In
command line.
The following article may be helpful:

I hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,

| Hello -
| Is there a way to schedule an automatic log off for all users in the
Domain?
| I've got an office full of users that come in remotely in off hours that
| consistently "forget" to close their applications, thus killing my backup.
| What I'd like to do is log everyone off before my scheduled backup runs.
| Is this possible in an SBS'03 Prem. environment?
| Thanks.
