RE: TS does not work after upgrading from SBS 2003 SP1 to SP2

Hello,
I am running SBS 2003 not Windows Server 2003. I got the SP2 pack through
Windows Update as it was a "recommended update". I have not done anything
else special.
I am using TS only for adminsitrative purposed, from within the domain, and
this was working fine until the upgrade was one.
I am not clear, why I would have to change any settings now, and how I can
reenable TS on the server.

Thanks for your help.

Hello Customer,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand that you unable to connect
terminal server on SBS after you install Windows server 2003 sp2. If I have
misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my research, Terminal Server is available on the Standard,
Enterprise, and Datacenter editions of Windows Server 2003. In Windows
Small Business Server 2003, only the Remote Desktop for Administration mode
is available. Only this mode is available because Windows Small Business
Server 2003 always runs on a domain controller, and if you run Terminal
Server on a domain controller, you may risk the safety of the server and
the safety of your organization's sensitive data.

To deploy Terminal Server on your Windows Small Business Server 2003-based
network, you must install an additional Windows Server 2003-based computer.

For more information about deploying Terminal Server on a Windows Small
Business Server 2003-based network, visit the following Web site to
download the "Deploying Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server to Host User
Desktops in a Windows Small Business Server 2003 Environment" white paper:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/techinfo/productdoc/alpha.msp
x

Therefore, you unable to make the SBS 2003 work as Terminal Server.

I hope these steps will give you some help.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)

| Hello,
| I am running Small Business Server 2003 with 5 clients. I was on SP1
until

computers
