Thanks for your reply.

By default ICMP is disabled in vista, please add a inbound rule as
described below.

1. Run mmc (Microsoft Management Console).
2. Click on File - Add/Remove snap/in, select Windows Firewall with
Advanced
Security and click Add.
3. Select Local computer and click on Finish.
4. Click on OK.
5. Expand the tab "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" and select
Inbound
Rules.
6. Right-click then select New Rule then select Port then add some dummy
port
number and finish the wizard with default options after specifying some
name to
this rule.
7. Right-click on the rule added in step 6 then selects Properties then
select
"Protocols and Ports" tab select ICMPv4 in the Protocol type drop box and
click
Apply.

Please also contact the NIC vender to get and install the driver for Vista:

1. Click Start and type devmgmt.msc in the Start Search to open the Device
Manager.
2. Expand to the network adapter and double-click the one in use to open
its Properties.
3. Under the Driver tab, click Update Driver button to update it using the
latest and compatible driver.

If the problem persists, please help me collect the following information:

Application Log

1. Click Start and enter eventvwr into the Start search to open event
viewer.
2. Expand to Windows Logs -> Application and right-click to select Save
Event As
3. Choose the location to save the file.
4. Enter the name for the file and click Save button.

System Log
==============
1. Click Start and enter eventvwr into the Start search to open event
viewer.
2. Expand to Windows Logs -> System and right-click to select Save Event As
3. Choose the location to save the file.
4. Enter the name for the file and click Save button.
