Re: SBS 2003 missing file associations after uninstalling ArcServe

Thanks for the input guys. Decided to reinstall after trying to restore the
registry from the repair folder in Windows. That got me up and running with
all file associations restored but I was getting too many permissions-related
error messages any time I tried to open Server Management or install a
program. Think there must have been something intrinsically wrong with the
SBS or ArcServe install from day one. Anyway we're almost back to a fully
working sysem, just need some guys to login remotely for some SQL work, wish
they'd hurry up!
Agree with you Claus re backups, hate not having a full
as-recent-as-possible backup but I think the backups not running was
symptomatic of something not right with either SBS or ArcServe. Hate being
left with only a vague notion as to what went wrong but it happens. Thanks
again

Well that's not a good position to be in. Short of trying to do this
manually, you could try a repair but that will not fix associations of all
the other software that you have installed. You also don't know what else
went wrong. Given that this install is only 2 weeks old, wiping it and
starting from scratch is probably the least work.
