Re: Exchange - redirecting email from another domain name

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hello,

If you still own the name, if DNS records still exist and the MX still
points to your server then this is as simple as either:

Add the domain to all users by opening the Exchange System manager
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289833/EN-US/

(Be sure not to set it as primary if it is a lagacy domain and not the
main domain).

Second option, per user

Open the Active Directory Users & Computers snap-in, located in
Administrative Tools.
In the left hand pane, select the Users folder.
Open the properties page for the user (Right-click user and select
Properties).
Select the Email Addresses tab.
Click the New button and select SMTP Address, then click OK.
Enter the email address, for example user@xxxxxxxxxxx

If you want to set an address as the default address:

Select the email address on the Email Addresses tab of the user's
Properties dialog.

Click the Set As Primary button.

(Or in this case, you don't want it primary)

Thanks

I am after some help from the exchange experts out there. I will try and
explain as best i can. Used to have an email address set up for this domain
but now they have moved to another domain am i still get people emailing the
old address but the exchange server doesn't do anything with it, for example
old email address: old@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx used to be set up but now the user is
on another network and the email address is now: old@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Is
there a way that if someone still emails old@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx the exchange
server can forward it to the new email address: old@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx untill
people stop using the old email address ?
Hope everyone understands?

Thanks
